School Life
Brenham Christian Academy |
Fine Arts Brenham Christian Academy has always had a love and commitment to teach and participate in the fine and performing arts. A wide variety of enriched learning experiences and an excellent and highly qualified arts faculty provide a program that cultivates the aesthetic sensibilities of our youth and perpetuates their knowledge of our rich heritage of Western civilization. Formal drama instruction begins in the seventh grade and continues throughout high school, preparing students for participation in several annual productions. Traditionally, the seventh grade class performs a production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in the spring using the Elizabethan language. The high school performs one or two theatrical performances each year. They are directed and produced by the drama teacher and are most worthy of support by every family. Recent high school performances include We Will Remember / The Diary of Anne Frank (Spring 2008) and Li'l Abner (Fall 2008). Students are given the opportunity to perform in chapel, school programs and fundraisers, and community functions. ACSI and TAPPS competitions are also integrated in the school calendar as these events are scheduled and announced to BCA. The high school program requires every student to earn a minimum of one fine arts credit for graduation from the following three choices: Drama
