...But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him,

who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and

held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the

proper working of each individual part, causes the growth

of the body for the building up of itself in love.

-- Ephesians 4:15-16

Many of Our Brenham Christian Academy Parents are extraordinary for their love, energy, commitment, creativity, and often sacrificial giving to our mission in American Christian Education! Our parents take seriously the responsibility of nurturing their children and participate in the process by active involvement and support. In the history of our school, dedicated parents have always been there undergirding our mission, encouraging our administrators, helping with homework, appreciating our teachers, assisting in our classrooms, driving for field trips, serving as homeroom moms and making costumes!

The home is God’s first ordained institution of government. We view the parent as being responsible for the education of his child by principle of property and stewardship. Neither school nor teacher will intrude on parents’ responsibility but will work for the parent serving a professional tutorial need. We will never attempt to pit the school against the home. We work FOR the parent WITH the child. We are responsible first to the parent, secondarily to the child.

This is why Brenham Christian Academy continually emphasizes good parent-school communication. There must be unity of purpose and method, support from all sides for the welfare of each child, for we cannot succeed in educating the child without regular, faithful communication with parents. We strive to achieve REAL communication by listening, being alert and attentive to what our parents share with us. We do our best to make individual contact with parents as needed. Our desire is to keep you INFORMED. Therefore, we highly encourage each parent to read our Brenham Christian Academy policies, notices sent home from school, mailings, website information, attend Guardian Eagles meetings, ask questions, visit the classrooms—stay in touch! When a child knows that his parents and school are united for his well-being, he is secure and able to grow toward his God-given potential.

Brenham Christian Academy has a structure for getting involved in the life of our school through the Guardian Eagles parent organization. Please take time to read this chapter and plan to attend their meetings once a month. We encourage our parents to pray about their commitment, to meet other Brenham Christian Academy parents, and to take advantage of the privileges private education affords for the involvement in their child’s school world.
